According to the Presidential Administration, the Head of State thanked the interlocutor and both parties of the Congress, as well as the entire American people and President of the United States Joseph Biden for their vital support of Ukraine since the first day of Russia's full-scale invasion.
Zelenskyy briefed Mike Johnson on the current situation at the front and the significant intensification of Russian air terror. Russia has been conducting massive strikes on Ukrainian energy facilities and civilian infrastructure, which has resulted in the shutdown of the country's largest hydroelectric power plant. Last week alone, Ukrainian cities and communities were hit by 190 missiles, 140 by "Shaheds" and 700 by KABs, the President said.
In this situation, quick congressional approval of aid for Ukraine is critical. We recognize that there are different positions in the House of Representatives on how to do this, but the most important thing is that the issue of aid to Ukraine remains a unifying factor
The two sides also discussed the need to cut off the sources of funding from which Russia receives funding to continue its war as soon as possible. The interlocutors paid special attention to the use of frozen Russian assets for the benefit of Ukraine.
"In this matter, we also count on the leadership of the US Congress," Zelensky said.
