The Crimean Prosecutor's Office has sent to court an indictment against a Crimean businessman who systematically assisted the occupiers in the illegal conscription of Ukrainian citizens for military service in the russian armed forces. This was reported by the Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, UNN reports.

The defendant is charged with aiding and abetting the violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 5 of Article 27, Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and collaboration (Part 4 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation established that before the occupation of the peninsula, he was engaged in business activities in Crimea, specializing in passenger transportation. In 2014 , he registered as an "individual entrepreneur" and the owner of Avtoprofi LLC under the laws of the occupying country and continued to engage in business activities.
During 2017, contrary to the requirements of the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War of 1949, the "entrepreneur" assisted the occupation authorities in ensuring the conduct of illegal conscription campaigns in Crimea
In particular, he organized and ensured the provision of long-distance transportation services to the military commissariat of Crimea for the transportation of recruits from military commissariats to collective distribution points, the Simferopol railway station and the Belbek airport for further service in the enemy army. For this, he was rewarded with more than 1.5 million russian rubles from the budget of the occupying state.
In total, the defendant's vehicles made 606 flights, during which 4,187 people were transported.
In addition, in 2022-2023, he participated in public procurement, concluding and fulfilling 4 contracts with occupation state institutions, carrying out economic activities in cooperation with the aggressor state. In particular, he provided services to the "educational institution" of Crimea - the "regional center for preparation for military service and military patriotic education" for the transportation of organized groups of children.
For these actions, he faces up to 12 years in prison.
