Today, a meeting of the State Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergency Situations was held under the chairmanship of Oleksandr Kubrakov, Vice Prime Minister for Reconstruction of Ukraine, where Sinegubov reported on the liquidation of the consequences of the oil spill.
According to him, the leakage of hazardous substances into the Siversky Donets River was prevented . Currently, all indicators are normal. At the same time, there is a positive trend in the reduction of oil products in the Nemyshlya, Kharkiv, Lopan, and Udy rivers.
In addition, the UN, the Swiss Embassy, and Ukrgasvydobuvannya donated 45 thousand liters of sorbent and 625 meters of boom barriers.
We coordinated the work of KHOVA, rescuers, the city council, and the fish protection patrol to ensure effective work: 261 meters of booms were installed at 14 locations and 4.3 thousand liters of sorbent were used. Currently, the region has another 40 thousand liters of sorbent and 364 meters of fences in reserve
At the same time, soil was cleaned on 5 streets and 6.5 thousand square meters of road surface was restored. The city council continues to clean up the territory of 35 private households. Mr. Sinegubov emphasized that the soil will be replaced.
The EIA also monitors drinking water indicators. Only on two streets of the city, directly at the site of the fire, 4 columns are disconnected from the centralized water supply. Local residents have been provided with drinking water.
The authorities have agreed with their regular partners from UNICEF to partially fund environmental surveys within the area of potential contamination.
We are developing a step-by-step large-scale plan to address this situation and will soon submit it to the relevant ministry for approval and implementation
