The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is preparing a number of decisions following a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense, writes UNN.

Among the tasks for the next few weeks are strengthening Ukrainian infantry, improving the contract system in the Defense Forces, and responding to cases of unauthorized abandonment of military unit (AWOL)

- the statement reads.

The decisions will be practical and will genuinely work in the army.

As Mykhailo Fedorov emphasized, the Ministry of Defense has already discussed with infantrymen and assault troops the decisions being prepared for the army.

In particular, key changes will be implemented:

  • in the mobilization process;
    • AWOL;
      • separate approaches for assault troops and infantrymen — regarding terms of service and monetary allowance.

        This will be a package of specific projects designed to systematically change the situation.

        Separately, following the meeting with the President, steps are being worked out to scale up the export capabilities of Ukrainian arms manufacturers and develop joint productions with international partners.
