Today, the High Anti-Corruption Court has completed the examination of evidence provided by the prosecutor in the case of former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and his son on the seizure of the Mezhyhirya residence, UNN reports.
"On November 6, 2024, the High Anti-Corruption Court held a regular court hearing in the case against the former President of Ukraine and his son on charges of illegal seizure of the Mezhyhirya residence," the SAPO said in a statement.
Based on the results of the trial, the HACCJ panel of judges completed the examination of evidence provided by the SAPO prosecutor.
At the next court hearing, scheduled for 04.12.2024, the court will begin examining the evidence of the defense.
Details of the case
The pre-trial investigation established that in 2002-2013, the former president, together with his son, abusing his official position, illegally seized a land plot in the Vyshhorod district and a complex of buildings located on this plot, namely the Pushcha-Vodytsia recreation center in the Mezhyhiria tract and a house in the village of Novi Petrivtsi. The damage caused to the state exceeds UAH 540 million.
The actions of the former president are qualified on the grounds of crimes under Part 5 of Article 191, Part 3 of Article 209, Part 5 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and his son - under Part 5 of Article 191, Part 3 of Article 209 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
