China's Foreign Ministry demands Ukraine ensure the rights of two Chinese nationals who fought for the Russian Federation. Beijing urges its citizens to avoid participating in military actions.

China has called on Ukraine to ensure the rights of Chinese citizens who fought for the Russian Federation and have been in custody in Ukraine for over a year after being captured, as stated by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian during a briefing on Wednesday, UNN reports.

"China demands that Ukraine, in accordance with relevant international law, guarantee the legitimate rights and humanitarian treatment of Chinese citizens," Lin noted when asked whether the Chinese government is taking measures to secure the release from Ukraine of two Chinese citizens who fought for Russia and were captured by Ukraine last spring.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson pointed out that "China has issued numerous security warnings, urging Chinese citizens to stay away from armed conflict zones and avoid participating in the conflict in any form, especially avoiding participation in any military operations on either side."
