President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime in Syria explains why Ukraine needs unwavering support from partners, because there is a combat-ready Russian army on Ukrainian soil, and if Ukraine falls, then Russian dictator Vladimir Putin will return to Syria, Africa, and many other regions that interest him, reports UNN.
"The events in Syria are a vivid example that explains why Ukraine needs the unwavering support and confidence of our partners. Everyone can see the significance of Ukraine and Russia's war against Ukraine. The Assad regime has fallen not only because of the strength of the opposition. This also happened because there are not enough Russian troops there. Why? Because the entire combat-ready Russian army is located on the territory of Ukraine. And this shows exactly that the entire army of this pseudo - empire is fighting against the Ukrainian people today," Zelensky said.
He noted that the same thing is already happening in Africa, when there were "wagnerists"there.
"We know how many wagnerists were destroyed in Ukraine. Russia wants its own regimes in Africa that would influence the African continent, and for this they used the "wagnerists". That is why today it is very important that all countries that value a World Without War, Value Security – European countries, the United States, other countries of the world, world leaders — understand this perspective: much is being decided now and here. Whether the Russian army is strong depends on the strength of Ukraine. Because if Ukraine falls, Putin will return to Syria for revenge, Africa, and many other regions that interest him. And I think this is the most important thing that everyone needs to understand: in this association around Ukraine, success is the overall success of the world. Success that unites. And unity that gives success, " Zelensky added.
