Law enforcers detained six more Russian intelligence accomplices who committed arson attacks in Odesa and Mykolaiv. The main targets of the enemy were military off-road vehicles of the Defense Forces and relay cabinets on the main lines of Ukrzaliznytsia, UNN reports, citing the SBU.

Details

According to the SBU, Russia engaged four minors and two 18-year-olds who were looking for "easy money" on Telegram channels to commit sabotage. There, they came to the attention of the Russian special service, which offered "quick money" in exchange for cooperation.

To confirm the fulfillment of the enemy's tasks, the defendants filmed each fire on their phones.

For example, in Odesa, two criminals were detained red-handed for setting fire to an entrance traffic light cabinet on a strategic railroad line and then trying to flee the scene.

But they failed. At the same time, their accomplice was detained, who helped the arsonists conduct additional reconnaissance near potential targets.

Later, the attackers were to continue a series of arson attacks on railroad infrastructure to disrupt the logistics of the Defense Forces in southern Ukraine.

As UNN reported, three minors aged 13, 14 and 16 were detained in Mykolaiv for setting fire to two service pickup trucks of the Ukrainian Marines on the order of the Russian Federation.

Ukrainian defenders brought the vehicles for repair to the regional center after performing combat missions on the southern front.

Later, the defendants planned to set fire to local TCC administrative buildings, but law enforcement officers prevented it.

Based on the collected evidence, three persons from Odesa, including a 15-year-old resident of the region, were served suspicion notices under Part 2 of Art. 28 and Part 2 of Art. 113 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (sabotage committed under martial law by a group of persons by prior conspiracy).

All of them are in custody. The offenders face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The 16-year-old defendant from Mykolaiv was served a notice of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 114-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (obstruction of the lawful activities of the Armed Forces and other military formations). He is currently under round-the-clock house arrest. He faces up to 8 years in prison.

The issue of bringing to justice his two accomplices, aged 14 and 13, is being settled.

The operation was conducted by the SBU in Odesa and Mykolaiv regions jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of the regional prosecutor's offices.
