About a hundred enterprises of the defense-industrial complex are to be inspected by the State Audit Service. The head of the service, Alla Basalaieva, told UNN about the first results of these audits, within which 16 enterprises have already been checked.
"In total, the inspection covers 92 business entities of the defense-industrial complex. These are all enterprises under 'Ukrainian Defense Industry' plus the 'Defense Procurement Agency' and the 'State Rear Operator,' which are subordinate to the Ministry of Defense," Basalaieva said.
According to her, as of May 2026, inspections have been completed at 16 entities, with another 27 in progress.
According to Basalaieva, among the materials checked are contracts concluded by the Defense Procurement Agency with the company-manufacturer of strike drones and missiles, Fire Point. No violations in the execution of the contracts were found.
"We checked the contracts of Fire Point concluded with the Defense Procurement Agency. What we saw: no deadlines were violated, goods are being delivered, funds are being paid. Part of the contracts are to be fulfilled by 2028. Therefore, only upon their completion will it be possible to talk about the final results," Basalaieva said.
Audits of all 92 enterprises are planned to be completed by the end of the year. The head of the State Audit Service added that all work is proceeding calmly, and enterprises are providing the requested information. At the same time, violations were also detected: during March-May 2026, it was possible to return UAH 7.3 billion to the budget. According to her, these are various funds, including overpaid money by state customers for contract execution and advance payments. Among the common violations is the overestimation of costs at the contracting stage.
