Greek law enforcement officers are investigating the circumstances of an explosion that occurred in the evening of April 11 near the office of the country's main railway company Hellenic Train in the center of Athens. This was reported by Ekathimerini, UNN writes.

It is noted that the explosives were in a backpack left near the office building by unknown persons. According to the anti-terrorist police, they were on a motorcycle without license plates.
The bomb exploded on Friday evening at 21:35, 42 minutes after a telephone warning sent to two media organizations. No one was injured in the explosion.
In particular, the Greek newspaper Efimerida ton Syntakton and the website Zougla received an anonymous call at 20:53, in which it was reported that a bomb had been planted near the offices and would explode in 35-40 minutes.
The police cordoned off the area from Athanasiou Diakou Street to Kallirroa Street, preventing residents and tourists from approaching the building in the area where several bars and restaurants are located.
Bomb technicians who arrived at the scene noticed a backpack outside the building attached to a pole. Before they could conduct a controlled explosion, the device went off. The explosion caused minor damage to the facade of the building and adjacent cars.
In a statement, Hellenic Train said the explosion occurred "very close to its central office" and that it caused "limited damage" and no injuries to company employees or passers-by.
