Taliban government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said late Tuesday night that Pakistan shelled four areas in Barmal district in eastern Paktika province.

The source linked the operation in part to the December 21 attack on the military base and stressed that there is “credible evidence that the Taliban regime is facilitating the transit of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants across the border to carry out attacks in Pakistan.
