A Kyiv resident has been notified in absentia of suspicion of violating the inviolability of private life. According to the prosecutor's office, the man harassed women for years after they stopped communicating, and 11 people have already been recognized as victims in the case. The Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office reported this, UNN writes.
Under the procedural guidance of the Solomianskyi District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv, the man was notified in absentia of suspicion of illegally storing and using confidential information about women whom he met and with whom he attempted to maintain communication despite their efforts to end any contact
His actions were classified as a violation of the inviolability of private life (Part 2 of Article 182 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
At present, 11 women whom the suspect met in different years, beginning in 2017, have been recognized as victims in the case. After the women did not want to continue communicating, the man persistently wrote to them, began searching for their social media pages, studied their habits and preferences, and later attempted to access their accounts in online banking services, messengers, mobile applications, delivery services, and taxi services. At the same time, the victims constantly received messages that someone was attempting to gain access to their accounts.
The man sent some of the women messages threatening to publish their personal information, and also ordered expensive goods to be delivered to their phone numbers and addresses. The women were unable to get rid of the annoying acquaintance for years.
It is currently known that in February 2024, the man left the country and has not returned to Ukraine since. He has been put on the wanted list.
