A 12-year-old boy who sustained severe injuries in a traffic accident that occurred in February of this year has died in Kryvyi Rih. The press service of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor's Office told UNN about this. At that time, the child was struck at a pedestrian crossing by Yevheniia Kostenko, a judge of one of the district courts.

The boy, who was hit by Judge Yevheniia Kostenko at a pedestrian crossing in February, died in the hospital on June 16. Following the boy's death, the prosecutor's office announced a change in the charges during further proceedings, taking into account the new circumstances.
"During further judicial proceedings, the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor's Office will change the charges to reflect the factual circumstances, namely the death of the victim. We recall that Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine provides for liability for the violation of road safety rules by a person operating a vehicle that caused the death of the victim or inflicted severe bodily injury," the statement reads.

On February 9, a traffic accident occurred in Kryvyi Rih. At a regulated pedestrian crossing, district court judge Yevheniia Kostenko, driving a BMW, struck a boy who was 11 years old at the time of the accident. Following the accident, the child sustained severe bodily injuries and remained in the hospital.
