At official Christmas tree fairs, all trees are chipped, so it allows to trace their origin and protect consumers from buying illegally cut trees.
In addition, each tree has a self-adhesive label with an individual number and barcode. Information about the tree can be checked at open.ukrforest.com.

As previously reported, Ukraine has launched a "Christmas tree campaign" to sell 200,000 Christmas trees from official plantations. Each legal tree will have a special tag with a barcode, and prices start at 135 UAH per meter.
