In the Berlin district of Pankow, 59 unexploded shells from World War II were found. The discovery was made during a routine walk in the forest. This was reported by Euronews, according to UNN.

According to the publication, a person came across a suspicious object in a forested area in the north of the German capital and called the police. Subsequently, specialized units of the German State Criminal Police Office (LKA) arrived at the scene.
During the inspection of the area, specialists discovered 59 Soviet 122-millimeter shells buried in the ground. The total weight of the ammunition was approximately 1.5 tons.
The police noted that there was no direct threat to the residents of the district; however, the removal of the explosive objects required a special operation.
Each shell was individually secured, after which they were prepared for transportation and subsequent safe disposal.
