The President spoke with the pontiff about the return of children, humanitarian aid, and a visit to Ukraine.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that today he spoke with Pope Leo XIV about the negotiation process and work with the American team, the return of abducted children, humanitarian aid, and a visit to Ukraine, writes UNN.

I spoke with Pope Leo XIV today. Right during this conversation, the Russians attacked Ukraine again – hundreds of "Shaheds" and dozens of missiles against our cities and communities. In fact, the attack has been ongoing in waves since night, and at least five regions have already been hit. Not an hour of peace for our people, and this is Russia's response to our proposal for a ceasefire for Easter.

He noted that "in fact, the Russians have only increased the intensity of strikes and, instead of silence in the sky, are escalating for Easter." "This certainly cannot be ignored, and I am grateful to everyone in the world who does not remain silent about it," the President emphasized.

"I spoke about the negotiation process and work with the American team. I also thanked him for his assistance in returning our abducted children and for all the humanitarian aid that the Vatican provided to our people, especially during this difficult winter. We also discussed the situation in the Middle East and the Gulf region," Zelenskyy said.

"I wished His Holiness and the faithful celebrating Easter this Sunday a blessed holiday and peace. Of course, we would be glad to see His Holiness in Ukraine on an apostolic visit. And I am especially grateful that the Pope remembers Ukraine, Ukrainians, and prays for peace for our people," the President noted.
