President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a conversation with President of Finland Alexander Stubb. The presidents discussed the strengthening of Ukrainian air defense against the backdrop of Russian strikes on energy infrastructure, as well as Ukraine's accession to NATO. Zelenskyy announced this on his Telegram channel, UNN reports.
"I had a conversation with President of Finland Alexander Stubb. We discussed the consequences of Russia's morning massive attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, which once again demonstrated the urgent need to strengthen Ukraine's air defense capabilities. I thanked Finland for its readiness to strengthen the capabilities of our air defense," Zelensky wrote.
He noted that it is important for Ukraine that Finland strongly supports Ukraine's sovereign right to choose its own future without external interference, including our choice to join the EU and NATO.
"In addition, we agreed on the need to provide Ukraine with real and effective security guarantees in order to achieve stability and lasting peace," Zelensky added.
