The "Star Wars" actor posted a photo on Bluesky on Wednesday showing Trump lying in the ground next to a tombstone with the dates "1946-2024." The post also included the words "If only."

In the caption, Hamill wrote: "If only he had lived long enough to witness his inevitable crushing defeat in the midterms, to be held accountable for his unprecedented corruption, to be impeached, convicted and humiliated for his countless crimes."

The actor later deleted the post.

The White House spoke of "dangerous rhetoric"

In response, the White House Rapid Response 47 account on X published a screenshot of Hamill's message and called him a "sick individual."

These left-wing radicals simply cannot help themselves. This is exactly the kind of rhetoric that inspired three assassination attempts on our president in two years

– the White House stated.

Hamill later published a new post in which he clarified his words.

Actually, I was wishing him the opposite of death, but sorry if you find the image inappropriate

– the actor wrote.

Hamill has long been a critic of Donald Trump. Last year, the actor stated that after Trump's re-election, he considered moving to the UK or Ireland, but ultimately decided to stay in the US.
