The United States has a commitment to Ukraine regardless of who leads the country. This was stated by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken on Friday, July 19, during the Aspen Forum in Colorado, UNN reports .

“These commitments will be fulfilled through one mechanism or another - either as direct assistance or as an agreement with NATO - regardless of the composition of the new American president's administration,” he assured.
He emphasized that there is “a strong bipartisan majority in support of Ukraine in both houses of the US Congress. Therefore, any next US president should take into account not only the external geopolitical situation, but also the internal political situation.
“Of course, every administration has the ability to set its own policy. But just a week ago, at the NATO summit, more than 20 countries announced that they had negotiated and signed 10-year bilateral security agreements with Ukraine,” Blinken emphasized.
The Secretary of State emphasized that this is a long-term commitment to Ukraine.
Blinken added that Ukraine is increasingly integrating with the West, while Russia has already lost the war.
“Vladimir Putin has already been defeated. He has failed to achieve the goal he set, that is, to wipe Ukraine off the map, to cease its existence as an independent state, to absorb it. It has failed and cannot succeed,” Blinken said.
“Russia has also lost its energy market in Europe, and it has to face NATO, which was, is, and is becoming even stronger and bigger. Three years ago, no one could even imagine that Finland and Sweden would become NATO members. But Putin's actions have only accelerated what he was trying to prevent,” the US Secretary of State said.
In his opinion, all of the above should be understood by the US leadership, regardless of personalities and preferences.
“Any administration must ask itself the question: if we stop or reverse course, if we turn away from Ukraine, what will Putin do? The aggression will resume, and perhaps the invader will have a chance to succeed where he has not succeeded so far. Obviously, he will not stop in Ukraine, he will go to other countries, including NATO allies,” the Secretary of State emphasized.
