The air defense forces of Ukraine shot down 6 missiles and 16 enemy UAVs in the sky over Ukraine, and another 24 drones were lost in location, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on Tuesday, according to UNN.
According to the Air Force, during the night of December 31, 2024 (from 8:30 pm on December 30), the enemy used 61 air attack weapons:
- 6 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles from the Voronezh region;
- 1 Kh-47M2 "Kinzhal" air-launched ballistic missile from a MiG-31K fighter jet from the airspace of the Tula region
- 6 guided air-to-surface Kh-69 missiles from tactical aviation aircraft from the airspace of the Belgorod region;
- 8 Kh-22 cruise missiles from Tu-22M3 aircraft from the airspace of the Tula region;
- 40 Shahed attack UAVs and UAV simulators of other types from the directions of Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Bryansk, Millerovo - Russia.
"As a result of the combat work of the air defense missile forces, electronic warfare, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces, the following were shot down:
- 1 Kh-47M2 "Kinzhal" air-launched ballistic missile;
- 5 guided air-to-surface Kh-69 missiles;
- 16 Shahed attack UAVs, another 24 UAV simulators of various types were lost in location (without negative consequences)", the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.
It is reported that as a result of the Russian attack, there are hits by ballistics in the Sumy and Kyiv regions.
