Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga warned Europe about Russia's massive hybrid offensive and proposed urgent steps to protect itself, including completely blocking Russian propaganda, strengthening cyber defense and making the Schengen visa policy for Russian citizens stricter, UNN reports.
Along with its military aggression against Ukraine, Russia has launched a massive hybrid offensive against Europe. It is using all hybrid tools, from propaganda and cyberattacks to sabotage and diversions, interference in internal affairs and attempts to destabilize entire countries
According to him, Georgia, Moldova, and Romania are just the latest examples of such actions, but Russia's hybrid efforts continue from Western Europe to the Balkans and Baltic states.
We call on all European governments and societies to realize that they are already under attack and to join forces to counter Russia's malign influence. To defend against this hybrid offensive and protect Europe, a number of urgent steps need to be taken, including completely blocking Russian propaganda, strengthening police and counterintelligence efforts, enhancing cyber defenses, and making the Schengen visa policy stricter for Russian citizens
Sibiga noted that Ukraine has vast experience in countering various hybrid threats from Russia, from cyberattacks to disinformation campaigns and sabotage.
“We are ready to share our best knowledge and experience with our European partners to help maintain stable democratic development,” the Ukrainian Foreign Minister wrote in a letter to X.
