Ukraine to hand over evidence of Russian attack on Okhmatdyt to ICC - Kostin

The Office of the Prosecutor General will transfer all available materials and evidence related to today's massive Russian attack to the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court. This was stated by Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin during a telethon, UNN reports .

The relevant agreement on the transfer of these materials was reached with the ICC Prosecutor Kareem Khan. The Prosecutor General emphasized that the information will be provided on all attacks on Ukrainian cities that have been affected today.

"We are cooperating with the ICC team on a daily basis and will provide all the materials and evidence that we are collecting today in Kyiv and other cities affected by the attacks. We will cooperate on these episodes, including the attack on the Okhmatdyt children's hospital, as this attack was the most brutal in terms of targeting a children's medical institution," Kostin said.

According to him, the International Criminal Court pays great attention to the investigation of Russian attacks on civilian infrastructure in Ukraine as part of its own investigations.  The purposefulness, regularity, and scale of these attacks indicate a planned policy of terror and genocide.

"And this once again confirms the position of the ICC, which has already issued 4 arrest warrants for the highest military leadership of the Russian Federation for shelling civilian and energy infrastructure as war crimes and even more - crimes against humanity

By continuing these attacks after the ICC warrants, Russia is not just trying to kill as many Ukrainians as possible. This is its attempt to destroy the international order based on law. But we believe and know that justice will surely prevail," the Prosecutor General summarized.
