The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and EPAM Ukraine have introduced a new electronic queue system for consular appointments that requires user identification through the ID.GOV.UA platform to prevent fraud.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in partnership with ERAM Ukraine, has developed a new electronic queue system (E-Queue) that provides online registration for appointments at Ukrainian consulates, without any costs to the state budget. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, according to UNN

Details

The main innovation concerned the authorization mechanism for making an appointment in the E-Check-in. From now on, it is necessary to identify the user through the ID.GOV.UA platform using electronic signatures (on file, cloud or other secure media), Diia.Signature or BankID of the NBU.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says that the changes are aimed at preventing potential fraudulent actions when registering for consular services.

The E-Checkpoint service is the entry point to consular services. The availability of free slots, system security and cases of cyber fraud have been key and interrelated challenges for the service in recent years. We believe that strengthening security measures at the identification stage will help solve this problem, and optimizing the interface will provide a more comfortable registration for public services in consular offices

- said Oleksiy Gladkov, Head of the Digital Transformation Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

IMPORTANT

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes that the records created earlier in the old system have been transferred to the new E-Check-in.

Addendum

In addition to the change in authorization of access to the service, users received an updated personal account and the ability to sign up for the online waiting list in case there are no free slots for the desired time or date. Users can now be informed about the availability of a free slot via e-mail.

A full security check was also carried out and the external E-Queue portal and the system of services for consulates were updated accordingly. In addition, the portal is now adapted for mobile devices and tablets, has English localization, and has been redesigned in accordance with the approved UI/UX recommendations of the Diia portal.
