The National Antarctic Scientific Center of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has announced a competition for the composition of the 32nd Ukrainian Antarctic Expedition to work at the "Akademik Vernadsky" station in 2027–2028, reports UNN with reference to the Ministry of Education and Science.
Details
As reported by the department, documents from candidates are accepted until August 7, 2026 inclusive.
The expedition will traditionally select scientists, including biologists, geophysicists and meteorologists, as well as life support team specialists: a doctor, a cook, a system administrator, a system mechanic and a diesel-electrician.
The "Akademik Vernadsky" station is an important part of Ukrainian science and our international presence. The research conducted by Ukrainian polar explorers is important not only for Ukraine but also for the global scientific community: from climate and atmosphere observations to the study of biodiversity and changes in Antarctica. That is why it is important for us that motivated, professional and resilient people join the expedition, ready to work in difficult conditions and represent Ukraine on the southernmost continent
