Farmers can receive up to UAH 1,000 per hectare for the purchase of mineral fertilizers of Ukrainian production. The maximum compensation for land reclamation has been increased to over UAH 30,000 per hectare.

Ukraine is expanding farmer support programs - payments for the purchase of mineral fertilizers and compensation for land reclamation costs, Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced on Friday, reports UNN.

Details

"The government is strengthening support for farmers: launching a new program for the purchase of Ukrainian fertilizers and increasing compensation for land reclamation," Svyrydenko stated on social media.

According to her, farmers "will be able to receive up to 1,000 hryvnias per hectare of non-repayable aid for the purchase of complex mineral fertilizers of Ukrainian production — at a rate of up to 7 tons per every 100 hectares of land."

Applications can be submitted through the State Agrarian Register. This is expected to help reduce farmers' costs and support Ukrainian fertilizer producers.

Also, according to her, state support for land reclamation is being expanded. "We have increased the maximum compensation amount for farmers and water user organizations - to over 30,000 hryvnias per hectare across Ukraine, and in frontline territories - to over 48,000 hryvnias per hectare," Svyrydenko indicated.

Farmers, she noted, will be able to more quickly restore and modernize irrigation systems, as well as expand irrigation areas where it is most needed today. "From 2027, this support will be indexed annually," the Prime Minister added.

According to her, this is a continuation of the systemic land reclamation reform. "The government has begun modernizing irrigation systems in the Odesa region. In particular, it has increased state support for the development of land reclamation in frontline territories to 80%," the Prime Minister indicated.

She also listed what else farmers are receiving.

In particular, according to her data, this week the first five agricultural producers from frontline regions received increased compensation — 40% of the cost of Ukrainian agricultural machinery.

And since the beginning of the year, applications from small farmers for 1.1 billion hryvnias in aid under European programs have been received. "Funds will be paid within the next month. Opportunities for exporting Ukrainian agricultural products have also been expanded," Svyrydenko indicated.
