The wildfire occurred at a time when Spain has been experiencing unseasonably high temperatures for April since Friday (April 12), with many places experiencing temperatures 10 degrees Celsius higher than usual for the season.

Regional Head of Interior and Justice Elisa Nunez visited the field operations center where firefighters are working and said that the fire was fueled by heat, which intensified at noon, and excessive vegetation.
