Maksym Tsutskiridze is to be appointed permanent head of the National Police of Ukraine. This is reported by UNN with reference to a post by People's Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak on his Telegram channel.
"Maksym Tsutskiridze will be appointed permanent head of the National Police. This is also a telling rotation," the parliamentarian wrote.
At the same time, Ukrainian media, citing their own sources, write that Tsutskiridze will only be the acting head of the National Police.
In this position, he will replace Ivan Vyhivskyi. He headed the National Police from July 14, 2023. Before that, from January 20, 2023, he was acting head of this position. From July 16, 2026, Vyhivskyi is the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
What is known about Maksym Tsutskiridze
Tsutskiridze is a police general of the 2nd rank, First Deputy Head of the National Police of Ukraine — Head of the Main Investigation Department. Doctor of Law, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine, Professor.
In 2006–2007, he worked in practical units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Kirovohrad region as an inquiry officer and investigator.
In 2010–2011, he held leadership positions at the Training Center for Postgraduate Education of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Management of the National Academy of Internal Affairs.
In 2011, he was appointed to the position of head of a department of the Main Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
In 2013, he became deputy head of a department of the Main Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Since 2015, he has been deputy head of a department of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police of Ukraine.
During 2017–2019, he was deputy head of the Department for Support of the Head of the National Police and deputy head of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police of Ukraine.
Since September 13, 2019, he has been Deputy Head of the National Police of Ukraine, Head of the Main Investigation Department.
Since September 2023, he has been First Deputy Head of the National Police of Ukraine, Head of the Main Investigation Department.
