Trump's envoy Steve Witkoff will visit Russia "in the near future," as a Kremlin pool correspondent quoted Putin's special envoy Kirill Dmitriev as saying in China on Wednesday.

Witkoff has been a lead negotiator in talks regarding the war in Iran, as well as in the so far unsuccessful attempts to negotiate an end to Russia's four-year war in Ukraine.
