In response, Trump expressed his gratitude, saying that he looks forward to continuing the cooperative relationship between South Korea and the United States, Kim said.

During the conversation, which lasted about 12 minutes, security, economic and global issues were discussed, and the two leaders agreed to set a date and place for a face-to-face meeting soon.

"They also discussed the situation in North Korea, including recent nuclear developments, missile launches and troop deployments in Russia, and expressed their concern about these security issues and the urgency of the situation in Ukraine," Kim said.

Trump mentioned that the U.S. is looking to cooperate with South Korea in the shipbuilding industry, especially in military shipbuilding, exports, repairs and maintenance, according to the office.

They agreed that a face-to-face meeting would be important to further discuss these issues and will soon agree on a date and location, Kim added.
