According to the U.S. National Hurricane Center, on Thursday afternoon the storm moved inland approximately 115 km northeast of Galveston. Maximum wind speeds decreased to 65 km/h, and forecasters predict further weakening of the system.

Due to thick cloud cover associated with the storm, SpaceX postponed the planned launch of Starship from South Texas to Friday.

A tropical storm warning remained in effect along the coast from Sargent in Texas to the border of Vermilion and Cameron parishes in Louisiana. Forecasts indicate that "Bertha" could cause a storm surge of up to 0.6 m and localized flash floods due to heavy rainfall.

In Galveston, local authorities urged residents to secure outdoor items and prepare for strong wind gusts. At the same time, officials noted that no significant impacts from the storm are currently expected.
