Tomato prices have fallen by 12% compared to last year, with Turkish tomatoes becoming 17% cheaper. Market operators predict a further price decrease due to stable supplies and low demand.

This week, the demand for greenhouse tomatoes has been falling sharply. Vegetables were mainly bought by large grocery chains, and even then, in small batches to support their range. In addition, the market was flooded with tomatoes imported from Turkey. As a result, sellers had to lower prices. This was reported by EastFruit analysts, writes UNN.

Tomatoes on the Ukrainian market are already being sold about 12% cheaper than at the end of March 2024. In particular, imported Turkish tomatoes have fallen in price by 17% in just this week. Now they can be purchased for 70-90 UAH/kg.

At the same time, market operators do not rule out that prices for this product will continue to decline, as tomato supplies are quite stable, and demand leaves much to be desired.
