The Ukrainian national team successfully performed at the international fencing tournament in epee of the European U-23 series in Switzerland. This was reported by the Base of Ukrainian sports, UNN informs.

Thus, in men's competitions, Maksym Perchuk reached the highest step of the podium. In the main draw, the Ukrainian defeated rivals from the Netherlands, Bulgaria, and a victory in the quarter-finals over another Bulgarian guaranteed him a medal.
In the semi-finals, Perchuk with a score of 15:8 did not let a representative of the host country into the final, and in the fight for gold he defeated another Swiss, Jan Ori (15:13)
The Ukrainians also became champions in the team competition. Roman Samoilov, Vladyslav Nazarevych, Maksym Perchuk and Arsenii Prokofiev defeated the Italians in the final (45:30).
The women's team also finished the competition victoriously. Maria Voloshyna, Oleksandra Romanova, Emily Conrad, Kateryna Korotecka won gold medals, defeating representatives of Switzerland (40:27).
It is noted that in the individual championship, Emily Conrad successively knocked out a fencer from Great Britain and two French women from the main draw. In the semi-finals, the Ukrainian lost to another fencer from France by one point (14:15) and eventually became third.

In February, fencer Volodymyr Stankevych won bronze at the World Cup held in Heidenheim, Germany. In the semi-finals, the Ukrainian lost to Italian Davide Di Veroli.
