Ukraine categorically denies Russia's absurd accusations that it is planning to blow up its own infrastructure, such as the Kyiv hydroelectric power plant or the Kaniv reservoir, in order to blame Moscow.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine categorically denies the absurd Russian accusations that the Ukrainian authorities are allegedly preparing to blow up the dams of the Kyiv hydroelectric power plant, the Kaniv reservoir, or other infrastructure to allegedly blame Russia. This is stated in a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, UNN reports.

Details

There can be no realistic goal or motive for Ukraine to destroy its own infrastructure or endanger its own people. As for "blaming the Russian Federation," the Russian regime is doing an excellent job of doing so with its own war crimes. The barbaric attack by a Russian missile on children in Ukraine's main children's hospital, Okhmatdyt, speaks for itself

- The Foreign Ministry emphasizes.

The ministry emphasizes that the only  cause of threats to civilians and destruction of critical infrastructure in Ukraine is Russian aggression.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry also emphasizes that if Moscow carries out any criminal intentions against the dams of the Kyiv hydroelectric power plant, the Kaniv reservoir, or other infrastructure, Russia will be solely responsible for such actions.

The real purpose of such statements by Moscow is to intimidate Ukrainian society and mislead the international community and the media. Russia has demonstrated this strategy many times before: accusing others of what it does or plans to do. Russia's latest fantasies about the Dnipro dams are a reason for the international community to monitor Russia's actions even more closely

- The Foreign Ministry emphasizes.

In addition, the foreign ministry noted that last year it was Russia that committed the largest man-made crime in Europe in recent decades by blowing up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant. And it was Moscow that built a whole disinformation campaign around this disaster.

Moscow then also accused Kyiv of this crime, contrary to any real facts. Unfortunately, many foreign media outlets unknowingly played along with Russian propaganda by spreading news with headlines about Ukraine and Russia allegedly "accusing each other"

- the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said.

The Ukrainian Ministry urges international media not to quote Russian speakers without additional information about their previous history of lies and not to equate Ukrainian and Russian statements.
