Rehabilitation after injuries, assistance with housing and employment is not a complete list of problematic issues that concern veterans of the Russian – Ukrainian war. How they are solved in the Brovary community, said the head of the Department for veterans ' policy of the Social Protection Department of the Brovary City Council Marina Kislitsina in a comment UNN.

Details

Now there are up to two thousand veterans in the Brovarsky community. Of these, 278 people with disabilities are participants of the Anti – Terrorist Operation/JFO and a full-scale war.

Marina Kislitsyna notes that the city authorities are trying to provide maximum support to military personnel and their families.

"We have a corresponding program in our city. We pay ten thousand hryvnias for mobilization, and we also pay ten thousand hryvnias for injuries and contusions. If the injury is complex, we provide additional funds. We help the families of the fallen defenders of Ukraine: we provide financial assistance for the burial and installation of the monument.

Most often, veterans turn to us on the issue of housing. If people need better housing conditions, they are registered. This year, as part of the implementation of the relevant state program, the Brovary City Council received UAH 39 million in subventions from the state budget for housing for war invalids.

There is a great need for physical rehabilitation of Veterans. To do this, we provide free access to two swimming pools. One of them is equipped with a special lift, and it can be used by veterans who cannot move due to injuries.

As for the employment of veterans, we currently have 15 people on the waiting list as part of the professional adaptation program. Such a small number of people is explained by the fact that a significant number of Veterans, people who were injured in the war, are officially still considered military personnel," Marina Kislitsyna said.

In the near future, it is planned to open a veteran hub in Brovary. As Marina Kislitsina notes, it should become a kind of Service Center for veterans.

"As we can see for ourselves, there will be relevant specialists from various structures and departments of the Brovary City Council, so that the veteran can fill out a questionnaire on the spot, where he will indicate his needs, then this questionnaire will be submitted to the appropriate body for its processing. In other words, this is the veteran's entry point and exit point with the service already received. In addition, veterans will be able to receive qualified psychological and legal assistance at the hub," Marina Kislitsyna added.
