According to Fars, a shell exploded near the facility during a strike that, according to the Kish Water and Power Engineering Company, was carried out by the US. The US Central Command (CENTCOM) began conducting strikes on Monday evening Eastern Time.
Fars reported that some power units may be taken out of service for repairs.
The media adds that Kish Island is primarily known as a resort for Iranian tourists, but it also hosts military infrastructure, including naval and radar installations, as well as aviation facilities supporting Iran's missile and drone programs.
