Matt Groening's animated series The Simpsons is known for predicting future events, and Kamala Harris' candidacy for the US presidency is another example.
An episode of "Bart in the Future" that aired in 2000 seemed to predict even more details of what would soon happen in real life: Lisa Simpson becomes president and wears a purple suit and pearls that are incredibly similar to what Kamala Harris, now running for president, wore during the vice presidential inauguration.
"A vision of @TheSimpsons that I'm proud to be a part of," Gene wrote, posting a picture of Lisa and Harris in strikingly similar outfits.
The series' screenwriter, Al Jean, posted a relevant analogy on social media on Sunday, shortly after Joe Biden announced that he was dropping out of the presidential race in 2024.
Trump's legacy
In an episode of Bart in the Future, President Lisa Simpson says that she "inherited a pretty significant budget crisis from President Trump.
It is also interesting that in 2016, Matt Groning predicted in an interview with the Guardian that Donald Trump would become president of the United States.

Assassination attempt, storming of the Capitol and COVID
In the 1996 episode titled "Lisa the Idolater," Lisa was shot dead while standing on the roof of a building, in a scene that closely resembles the attempted assassination of Trump earlier this month.
The episode was pulled from broadcast in the UK the day after the former president was shot during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
The series also correctly predicted the Capitol riot, the Game of Thrones finale, the coronavirus pandemic, and more.

In 2012, the show foreshadowed elements of Lady Gaga's 2017 Super Bowl halftime show, right down to her sparkly outfit. It also predicted the outcome of the penultimate episode of Game of Thrones when it parodied the show in 2017 - two years before that episode of GOT aired.
