The draft law on the introduction of an electronic ticket has passed the relevant committee in the Verkhovna Rada, said Taras Melnychuk, a government representative in parliament, UNN reports.

According to him, the Committee on Transport and Infrastructure recommended that the Verkhovna Rada adopt in the second reading and as a whole the government's draft law on amendments to certain legislative acts of Ukraine on the introduction of electronic tickets for road and urban electric transport (Reg. No. 5705).
The adoption of the draft law will ensure the implementation of one of the key reforms in the transport sector - the introduction of an electronic ticket
The provisions of the project are designed to:
use of an electronic ticket as a legal basis for concluding a passenger and baggage transportation contract;
creating the conditions for the proper functioning of the automated fare collection system in urban passenger transport.
