According to the agency, these volumes determine the amount of premedical assistance provided by military personnel and employees of the security and defense forces during combat operations, combat and special missions, national security and defense measures, as well as preparation of the components of the security and defense forces for their intended use.
"Establishing the scope of premedical assistance is an extremely important step that was preceded by extensive work with Western partners, combat medics and representatives of specialized NGOs. The document has been worked out with the General Staff, representatives of the branches, individual troops (forces), and other components of the Defense and Security Forces. We now have a system that accumulates the best practices of Ukraine and NATO countries. This will allow us to save the lives and health of our defenders at the front and improve the quality of tactical medicine training," emphasized Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Natalia Kalmykova.
The document defines the division of first aid into four levels and establishes a list of skills and interventions used by military personnel to assist victims. It also contains a list of medicines used to help victims.
"The basic regulatory foundation has been established on which we will build a modern and effective system to save the lives and health of servicemen on the front line. The scope of premedical care will allow us to develop unified clear training standards and standard training programs in tactical medicine," added Oksana Sukhorukova, Head of the Healthcare Department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
