Ukraine expects $24.5 billion in agricultural exports this year, which is the second highest figure in history for Ukraine. This was stated by the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Vitaliy Koval in an exclusive commentary to UNN journalist.
Details
"The process of closing and opening businesses, not only in the agricultural sector, is permanent. Someone closes down because they can't stand it, or for their own reasons. There is no massive tendency to close down farms. I can say this based on the gross harvest and the land we sowed and harvested," Koval said.
According to him, farmers sowed 19.8 million hectares and harvested the crops, so Ukraine has food security.
"In general, November was a record-breaking month for exports, so farmers have adjusted. These are the figures we have. For example, this year we expect $24.5 billion in revenue from agricultural exports, which is the second highest figure in the history of Ukraine. The highest was in 2021," the Minister said.
Recall
Oleh Khomenko, CEO of the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club, told UNN that over the past year, more than a thousand agricultural companies have ceased operations.
