The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has regulated the mechanism for issuing permits for the import and export of medical cannabis from Ukraine, as well as transit through its territory. UNN reports this with reference to the Ministry of Health.
"The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a resolution that changes the procedure for importing into the territory of Ukraine, exporting from it and transiting through the territory of Ukraine narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or precursors. The changes are introduced in terms of transportation of plants of the genus Cannabis," the statement said.
It is reported that the resolution states that permits are issued primarily if the business entity has the appropriate licenses to carry out activities in the field of circulation of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors or a license for the production, wholesale, retail trade in medicines for drugs containing small amounts of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors.
"The resolution provides an exhaustive list of all documents that a business entity must submit to the State Service on Medicines and Drugs to obtain permits for the export, transit and import of medical cannabis plants, narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors into the territory of Ukraine," the statement said.
The Ministry of Health informs that starting from October 1, 2024, the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and the State Customs Service will be obliged to enter information on issued permits into the state web portal "Single Window for International Trade" on the day of their issuance.
It is also noted that the resolution was developed as part of the preparation of regulatory acts for the implementation of the Law of Ukraine regulating the circulation of cannabis plants for medical, industrial, scientific and technical purposes and will come into force on August 16, 2014.
