The enemy is throwing its most experienced assault units into battle in the Pokrovsk sector, trying to break through our defense, while fighting continues in all directions of the enemy's offensive, "in some places, at the cost of heavy losses, the enemy has a slight success". This was stated on Thursday by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky following the results of work on the eastern front, UNN reports.
For three days I worked on the Eastern Front, in the brigades holding the defense at the Kharkiv and Toretsk directions. The enemy continues to focus its efforts on the Pokrovsk direction, throwing its most experienced assault units into battle, trying to break through our defense in the direction of Zhelanne, Novohrodivka, Pokrovsk
According to the Commander-in-Chief:
- Fierce fighting continues in the Kupyansk sector near Pishchane, Stelmakhivka and Makiivka, but we are holding our positions.
- The situation in the Northern sector is difficult. The enemy is actively using artillery, conducting assaults, but is not successful.
- Fierce fighting is also taking place in the area of the canal on the outskirts of Chasovyi Yar, with no change in the positions of the parties.
- The enemy continues to storm our positions in the areas of New York, Pivdenne, Zalizne.
- There is also fighting in the Kharkiv sector, near Hlyboke and Vovchansk, but the enemy is not successful and suffers significant losses.
Combat actions of varying intensity continue in all directions of the enemy's offensive. In some places, at the cost of heavy losses, the enemy has a slight success. During active hostilities, the tactical positions of troops may change several times during the day. As of now, there have been no significant changes
According to the Chief of Staff, the National Police, the Security Service of Ukraine and the Military Law Enforcement Service are conducting counter-sabotage actions. "Their units are currently detecting and neutralizing enemy subversive groups in urban areas in the Toretsk sector," he said.
"The main tasks of my work in the brigades are to study the situation directly in the combat areas, analyze the effectiveness of combat missions, solve problematic issues of supplying units with ammunition, UAVs, electronic warfare equipment and assist commanders in organizing combat operations. I met with the commanders of brigade units and discussed ways to increase the sustainability of defense. I express my gratitude to the soldiers, sergeants and officers for their courage and bravery in the defense of Ukraine. Glory to Ukraine!" - Syrsky emphasized.
