Strategically, Ukraine must have its own anti-ballistic system – either its own or with those partners, strong partners, who are truly ready to work and who understand the nature of this challenge. This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, UNN reports.
We are actively looking for ways to ensure anti-ballistic capabilities and other air defense means against missiles. The challenges are clear: the war in Iran significantly complicates the supply of anti-missile systems. There is personal responsibility for our diplomats, the military command in their respective lines, and all involved government officials for the fulfillment of the promises that partners have already made
The President added that over the past week, we received three contributions to the PURL program – from three European countries. There should be additional contributions in May; the Head of State expects information from Ukrainian ambassadors on how they are working toward this. Ukraine is also working on alternatives.
Long-term, strategically, Ukraine must have its own anti-ballistic system – our own or with those partners, strong partners, who are truly ready to work and who understand the nature of this challenge. Russia is not slowing down its military industry – only we are slowing them down with our Ukrainian long-range sanctions. We are also actively working with partners so that they use all methods to cut off the supply of components and machine tools for weapons production in Russia. But strategically, this must be the task – our own anti-ballistics
According to him, Ukraine has already achieved a lot, "and the weapons we are producing now, the weapons that are actually influencing the situation at the front – we did not have them before."
Now we are making them, and precisely in the volumes that are needed. This includes millions of drones for the front, our long-range drones, our own artillery, and our own shells, which were not produced before. The result of Ukraine's defense development should be its own spectrum of key weapons and corresponding joint production, joint programs with our partners
