Stop immoral manipulations on peace and Christmas: Kyiv reacts sharply to statements of Hungarian officials

Ukraine has called on the Hungarian side to stop immoral manipulations on the topic of peace and Christmas, and to refrain from unilateral contacts with the aggressor state. This is stated in a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, UNN reports.

"Hungarian officials are once again claiming to be able to stop the war, but these statements are not true. In reality, after Hungarian "peacekeeping" calls to Moscow, deadly missiles and drones are flying at Ukrainian cities and communities," the statement reads.

The ministry emphasizes that the actions of the Hungarian side are even more distant from peacekeeping than its statements. Hungary has consistently called for leaving Ukraine, which is defending itself against Russian genocidal aggression, without weapons for self-defense, and has been obstructing funding for strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities, increasing sanctions pressure against the aggressor, and other critical decisions. All of this has nothing to do with the desire to restore peace.

"We call on the Hungarian side to stop immoral manipulations on the topic of peace and Christmas, to refrain from unilateral contacts with the aggressor state, which undermine joint efforts to restore a just peace.

Only Russia and its war-obsessed dictator stand in the way of peace. Ukraine wants peace on its land like no other country in the world," the statement reads.

The Foreign Ministry emphasizes that the joint efforts of our country and its partners are aimed at achieving a just and sustainable peace.

"Ukraine has always adhered to the principles of honest dialogue and mutual respect. We will continue constructive contacts with our partners who sincerely want the war to end, not Ukraine's defeat," the ministry summarized.
