Shmyhal meets with Slovak ambassador: assures that Ukraine's sanctions against Russian companies do not pose a threat to the country's energy security

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met with the newly appointed Slovak Ambassador to Ukraine Pavel Vizdala. He emphasized that Ukraine's sanctions against Russian companies do not pose a threat to Bratislava's energy security. Shmyhal said this in Telegram, UNN reports.

He pointed out that Ukraine remains a reliable partner and in no way violates the Association Agreement with the EU.

At the same time, Russia continues to engage in energy blackmail. "Any dependence on Russian oil, gas or other goods is a huge risk for absolutely all European countries,"  Shmyhal added. 

The Prime Minister pointed out that Ukraine, together with its European partners, is ready to implement projects that will strengthen the energy security of Ukraine and the EU.

Work is also underway on a plan for joint consultations between the governments of Ukraine and Slovakia, which are scheduled for October.

Denys Shmyhal also had a telephone conversation with Vice President of the European Commission Valdis Dombrovskis. He pointed out that the reaction of Slovakia and Hungary is politicized, while Ukraine is open to cooperation.
