According to MarineTraffic, over the past 24 hours, at least 22 commercial vessels have passed through the Strait of Hormuz, ahead of the deadline set by U.S. President Donald Trump at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time (11:00 p.m. Kyiv time - ed.), when, according to him, the U.S. blockade will take effect, reports UNN citing CNN.
In total, 14 vessels entered the Persian Gulf — 11 cargo ships and three tankers. Another eight vessels left the strait: four cargo ships and four tankers.
The publication notes that these figures generally correspond to the low transit rates through the strait observed in recent weeks. Before the war, an average of about 110 vessels passed through the strait daily.
