In Moldova, the turnout at polling stations exceeded 50%. According to the Central Election Commission (CEC), more than 1.5 million Moldovan citizens voted in the second round of the presidential election, which continues on November 3, UNN reports with reference to Newsmaker.

According to the CEC, more than 1,522,974 citizens, or 50%, have already voted in Moldova. The turnout at polling stations abroad was over 258 thousand people, which is already more than the number of people who voted in the first round on the entire election day.

Citizens aged 66-75 are the most active in the elections, and 18-25 are the least active. However, all age groups recorded an increased turnout. In addition, the turnout was high among citizens living in Transnistria (23,294 people).

Today, November 3, Moldova is holding a second round of presidential elections. It is contested by incumbent President Maia Sandu and former Prosecutor General Alexandru Stoianoglo, who was supported by the Socialist Party. In the first round, Sandu won 42.49% of the vote, while Stoianoglo received 25.95%.
