Starting tomorrow, August 17, many southern and southwestern regions of Ukraine may experience a heat wave of 35-37 degrees Celsius. It is likely to last until August 21, possibly even until August 22. However, it will not be completely dry weather without precipitation. This was reported by the spokeswoman for the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center Natalia Ptukha during a briefing on Friday, an UNN correspondent reports.
The second wave of heat. There was a lot of media coverage about it for a long time. Unfortunately, there was a lot of unofficial information, which contributed to people's early worries. According to official forecasts, we can already say that the second heat wave is indeed approaching us. It starts literally tomorrow. The temperature will already be higher

According to her, before that, the territory of Ukraine was affected by an anticyclone, there was no precipitation, but the air flows into it were directed from the northwest, meaning that cooler air was coming from the northern latitudes. "Now this anticyclone will move away from us in a northeasterly direction, so our territory will be affected by a weaker low pressure field. This means that there may be more cloud cover from time to time, but at the same time, warm air will be coming in from the southwest. It will cause high temperatures primarily in the southwestern and southern regions," the expert said.
Starting tomorrow, many southern and southwestern regions may already experience this intense heat - 35-37 degrees Celsius
She noted that on August 17-18, the heat will still be present in some places, and then it will persist until August 21.

"Mostly in the south and west of Ukraine. Accordingly, there will be this intense heat. Extreme heat is classified from 35 degrees Celsius. Up to 35 degrees is a high temperature. Such indicators are likely to remain until August 21, even until August 22. There is a tendency that it may continue within these intensity limits, but we need to clarify, because the processes are changeable," Ptukha said.
She also noted that it will not be completely dry weather without precipitation.
"The specificity is that due to the fact that the pressure field is reduced, clouds can still form from this hot air, when it is warm, in the afternoon it begins to warm up and rise, and this contributes to the formation of cumulonimbus and storm clouds. This can be the case in the west of our country. At the same time, in the southeastern regions, the weather will be mostly without precipitation, and this contributes to a high level of fire danger," Ptukha said.
