NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, commenting on Russia's latest massive attack on Kyiv, stated that such strikes indicate the Kremlin's desperation, as Ukraine is successfully containing the Russian offensive and striking military and economic targets in the Russian Federation. The Guardian reports, as cited by UNN.
According to Rutte, Ukraine is demonstrating successes on the battlefield, in particular by striking deep into Russian territory and containing the advance of occupation forces.
What happened last night was an indiscriminate attack on civilians, infrastructure, and cities, resulting in casualties. But this is not the way Russia can win this war
Responding to a question about Ukraine's shortage of interceptor missiles, which makes it more vulnerable to Russian attacks, Rutte stated that the current supply mechanisms, including NATO's PURL scheme, are functioning properly.
At the same time, he emphasized that allies need to significantly increase the production of interceptor missiles to strengthen Ukraine's air defense. Rutte also separately noted the role of the United States in ensuring these supplies.
