Russian submarines carrying Kalibr missiles are afraid to enter the Black Sea because of Ukraine's air defense capabilities, reports Dmytro Pletenchuk, spokesman for the Southern Defense Command.

Russian submarines carrying Kalibr missiles  are afraid to enter the Black Sea. This was reported by the spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces, Dmytro Pletenchuk, during a telethon, according to a UNN correspondent.

Details

Pletenchuk answered the question, "How could Ukraine resist submarines now or in the future, so that they would be afraid to go to the Black Sea," he said:

And they are afraid. If they were 100% confident in their abilities, they would probably go out more often. They went out a few times recently to test how far it was possible and that was their expected use.

According to him, the enemy is trying to  somehow return at least some functionality to the Black Sea Fleet, because as of now they have simply taken refuge at the base in Novorossiysk and are staying there.

As for the direct destruction of these submarines, I would like to emphasize that a submarine does not live underwater like SpongeBob. It is in a basing point in a surface position.

 ,” Pletenchuk said.

In addition, Pletenchuk commented on the current situation with Russian ships in the Black Sea.

The two submarines are located not far from the Novorossiysk basing point. Most likely, they will enter the basing point. There are no other ships at sea.

 ," Pletenchuk said.

AddendumAddendum

On the night of Saturday, April 27, Ukrainian Air Defense Forces destroyed 21 Russian missiles out of 34 launched.

Among the 21 destroyed air targets were 6 Kalibr cruise missiles.
