The Deputy Prime Minister of Poland announced an open cyber war with Russia and a threefold increase in the number of attacks since 2022. A special cybersecurity program has been launched to protect local governments.

Deputy prime minister and Minister of digitalization of Poland Krzysztof Gavkowski believes that Russia no longer hides that it is in a state of cyber war with Poland. This is reported by TVN24, writes UNN.

According to Gavkovsky, in 2024, twice as many incidents in the field of cybersecurity were detected as in the year before, and three times more than in 2022. Gavkovsky stressed that Russian attacks are targeted and exploit infrastructure vulnerabilities.

A significant part of them is clearly directed at Poland from Russia. the Russian Federation no longer hides that it is in a state of cyber war with Poland. They attack and do it intentionally. They know where our weaknesses are,

- said the Polish minister.

Journalists noted that the cybersecurity of local governments is of concern. In response, the Ministry of digital affairs, in collaboration with the state Research Institute NASK, launched the program "cybersecurity local government".
